Summer Graduate School Enrollment Up 8 Percent at ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ
|
VALDOSTA — Graduate School enrollment is up 8.23 percent this summer at Valdosta State University.
“The significant increase in our summer graduate enrollment reflects our high-quality, face-to-face and online graduate programs, which are increasingly popular across the state and throughout the region,” said Dr. James T. LaPlant, interim assistant vice president for research and dean of the Graduate School at ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ.
Graduate School faculty and staff have been very active in promoting ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s master’s, specialist, doctoral, and other academic programs through online marketing, recruitment at conferences, and advertisements in professional magazines and journals, LaPlant added. Those efforts led to an additional 135 graduate students choosing to further their education at Valdosta State during the 2015 summer term, compared to the 2014 summer term.
ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ is committed to providing a quality graduate learning environment that enables students to pursue their advanced studies under the guidance of faculty who have a passion for teaching, scholarship, and service. The Graduate School offers more than 60 degree, certificate, and endorsement programs.
Overall, enrollment is up 3.17 percent this summer at ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ. This includes a slight 0.76 percent increase in undergraduate students.
